Lucy Hale Dishes About Her (Figurative, Not Actual) Baby

Lucy HaleLucy Hale is famous on television for being a pretty little liar, but she's definitely making with the honesty in her role as a Seventeen magazine it girl. Lucy sports a stripey dress on the cover of the June/July issue, where she opened up to her interviewer about overcoming an eating disorder, getting through a bad breakup and changing things up career-wise with a new country musical endeavor.

According to Lucy, she couldn't have done anything without first getting back a healthy relationship with her body. Like many actresses, she found that the pressure to be thin was overwhelming and admitted that up until recently she was starving herself to stay slim. Now, though, she's healthy and happy—and relieved to have her energy back.

"I’m so unbelievably lucky that I’m not like that anymore," she told Seventeen, "because it is a horrible way of life and it’s miserable. It consumes everything you think about and you can’t pursue things you want to do."

And Lucy wants to do a lot of things—including releasing a brand-new album that has some people wondering if she might be the next big thing in country pop. All she'd say about it, though, is that she's taking it incredibly seriously.

"My album is something I’m really, really, really proud of," she said. "I've intentionally been quiet about it because I want the music to speak for itself. People are either going to love it or hate it. But I think that once they hear it, they’ll be like, 'Okay, she loves this and is serious about it.' This is my pride and joy—it’s my baby! I worked my butt off on it."

Lucy HaleBut while she's thrown herself 100 percent into her music, Lucy said that the one thing she doesn't have any energy for is romance—at least not after a rough breakup with ex-boyfriend Chris Zylka.

"I was just telling [my best friend] the other day that I don’t know what it’s going to take for me to want to date someone again. It just seems so exhausting. When I like someone, I fall really hard and I invest everything. When it’s gone, I’m like ‘I’m never doing that again!’”

Which makes sense! But it's also what everyone says right before they get photographed strolling arm-in-arm with some hottie they are obviously dating, so, y'know, grain of salt.
