Rebel reunited with her "Pitch Perfect" star Adam DeVine on set today, joined by co-star Ashley Tisdale, and the trio couldn't have looked more excited to be working together. We, for one, couldn't be more excited to see the sure-to-be-hilarious results.

'Girls' Recap: 'Bad Friend'

Hollywood Crush

'Girls' Recap: 'Bad Friend'

If you're keeping score at home, we've now seen two of the four "Girls" get high on cocaine during our few short episodes together. (And let's be honest, Jessa probably did a line or two when we weren't looking...) As gimmicky as the conceit seems, I have to admit these two drug-induced eps are among my favorites so far.

Hannah lands a meeting with JazzHate editor Jame (a total poor woman's Jane Pratt), who offers the fledgling freelancer $200 for a personal experience essay involving either a threesome or a coke bender. Seeing as Hannah has a hard time focusing on even one other person during sex, she settles for the latter.

Start Useless '90s Trivia Break: If something about Jame seems familiar, it's probably because actress Angela Featherstone played the loopy copy girl whom Ross cheats on Rachel with during their break. Oh, "Friends." End Useless '90s Trivia Break

With her assignment in hand, Hannah seeks out her most likely drug ally: Jessa. But it's actually Marnie who offers up a solution: Why not ask the junkie in her building? (We know he's a junkie because he hangs out by the mailboxes all the time.) So Hannah pays a visit to turtle-owning, Pom-juice-drinking Laird, who is clean now but still knows a few people in the biz (not to mention he's always wanted to do something for Hannah).

Meanwhile, Marnie's at her hostessing gig, when who does she run into but cocky artist Booth Jonathan. He calls her by the wrong name and tells her how f---ing depressing it is that she works at the club—all of which makes Marnie want to have sex with him. But not before a little foreplay in the form of locking Marnie inside one of his installations, where images of crying babies and rotting carcasses flash to the strains of Duncan Sheik's (again with the'90s!) hit "Barely Breathing." And if you thought Adam was into some weird sh--, you clearly haven't spent a night with Booth Jonathan. He and Marnie do the deed with a porcelain doll perfectly positioned at the foot of his bed bed.

"Look at the doll," Booth instructs Marnie. "Look at her. Describe her. How is she feeling?"

"She feels sassy," Marnie offers.

"No, she's sad," Booth says.

Booth finishes and Marnie giggles.

Back to Hannah: She and Elijah start snorting at 4 p.m. (human decency be damned!), musing over their life goals before going out to see iPad DJs AndrewAndrew. Hannah trades shirts with a sweaty dancer, spending the rest of the evening in a mesh top, sans bra. (My chest ached just watching her dance so animatedly without some form of support.) After a few more lines, Elijah confesses his sins: He slept with Marnie. Hannah is, of course, livid and storms out of the club to a local drug store, where she spies Laird. Apparently, he feels bad about giving her drugs and has been her guardian-angeling her all night. Marnie texts Hannah that she's over at Booth Jonathan's, so she, Elijah and Laird head over there. Hannah rails at Marnie for her sexcapades with Elijah, telling her that she, in fact, is the bad friend (hence the episode's title). But, you know, she'll still be friends with Marnie. Whether the same goes for Elijah is unclear, as Hannah tells him he's moving out.

The episode concludes in, really, the only logical way: Hannah, mesh top and all, making out with Laird in the entry way of their building. Hope the $200 was worth it!

Sleepwalk With Us: Peep An EXCLUSIVE Scene From 'Side Effects'

Sleepwalk With Us: Peep An EXCLUSIVE Scene From 'Side Effects'

If you've always wanted to spend 52 EXCLUSIVE seconds with a sleepy and super-confused Channing Tatum—and seriously, who wouldn't?—then today is your lucky day, you lucky dog. Just in time for the upcoming release of "Side Effects," we've got an EXCLUSIVE clip from the film that features Channing as the befuddled husband of a sleepwalking Rooney Mara.

In this thriller, Channing and Rooney play a married couple who are finally starting their lives together—a moment delayed unexpectedly by Channing's arrest and imprisonment for a mysterious crime (although it can't be anything too terrible, since he looks pretty much the same coming out as he did going in). In an effort to cope with the stress of her husband's upcoming release, Rooney begins taking medication that helps combat her depression and anxiety, but that also prompts her to walk in her sleep while listening to sitar music. Y'know, among other things. And though the available trailers for the film have been pretty vague and leave the plot largely unspoiled, even in this minute-long sneak peek you can tell there's something sinister going on. Creepy!

"Side Effects" hits theaters February 8.

'Glee' Recap: 'Sadie Hawkins'

Hollywood Crush

'Glee' Recap: 'Sadie Hawkins'

by Melissa Albert

"Glee" went high road/low road last night, making Tina a proud crusader for female empowerment while turning Kitty into a pint-sized sexual predator. "Glee," why do you save all your nuanced writing for Kurt?

When Tina and the other bitter single girls of McKinley vote to throw a Sadie Hawkins dance, Finn’s inspired to make it ladies’ choice week in glee club: every girl dedicates a song to the lucky lad of her choice.

Poor, misguided Tina sings "I Don’t Know How to Love Him" to...Blaine?!?! Didn’t we cover the straight girl/gay guy plotline in season one, when Mercedes crushed impossibly on Kurt? Unlike then-closeted Kurt, Blaine has the guts to turn Tina down flat when she asks him to the dance.

But it's not just disinterest in dating the ladies that’s made Blaine hang up his dancing shoes: he’s got an impossible crush of his own. On Sam Evans, and who can blame him? There’s just something about those James Bond impressions. But Sam’s got more on his mind than perfecting his already perfect Connery: "Glee" has gone topical, with a doping scandal plotline involving a certain gang of blazer-wearing sectionals victors. Yep, sleuthy Sam is accusing the Warblers of taking steroids to stay on top—a crime that would disqualify their sectionals win.

Kurt’s not the only one moving on after the end of Klaine. It’s his first week at NYADA, and he’s realizing that college is just as clique-y as high school. Rachel’s too busy falling for Brody to hang out, so Kurt considers joining the Adam’s Apples, a badly named NYADA show choir. Rachel assures him that joining that gang of geeks will kill his chances of having a social life, a career on Broadway, a reason to LIVE...but guess what? The director of Adam’s Apples (Adam, of course) is a super dishy British guy. He’s so cute, in fact, that Kurt manages to sit through the club’s deeply embarrassing ballad-style rendition of "Baby Got Back" without standing up to show them how a real performer gets it done. Soon, Adam’s showing up all over the place, trying to recruit Kurt for the club. But is he into Kurt, or into his talent? Finally, Kurt nuts up and scores Adam’s number—though it remains to be seen whether it’s love, or just a means of making him the newest Apple.

Marley’s been a mess since her stumble at sectionals, but with Brittany’s help she’s ready to reclaim Jake’s affections. The two ladies perform an adorable, high-energy duet of "Tell Him," by the Exciters, then successfully ask Jake and Sam to the dance. Is it our imagination, or does Ryder look sad about not getting an invite? Throughout the episode, he’s comically stalked by a blond chick in a neck brace, but she never quite succeeds in talking to him. Where'd the female empowerment go?

Oh, right. Kitty stole it, then shook it up with a double dose of reality-show tramp. She corners Jake in a classroom and practically throws her underwear at him, promising to put out if he goes to the dance with her. He’s so freaked out by his urge to be a “bad guy” with Kitty that he runs to Puck for help. Puck promptly puts out the Kitty flame, heroically smothering it with his own body. Yep, if you have a problem that can be solved by someone having sex with a hot girl so you don’t have to, Puck’s your man. Turned on by his Lima lurker style, Kitty asks him to Sadie Hawkins, and they even make it through a few songs before retiring to the backseat of her car.

We have more than one problem with this plotline, but let’s just focus on the gross powerless guy/insatiable sex succubus dynamic. This boring chestnut has played out on TV a million times, but it seems extra lazy coming from "Glee." But we can’t deny that it’s fun to see the original Puckerman back in Cheerio-chasing action.

Tina and Blaine do end up hitting the dance floor together, as “best friends" (hah!), but she nearly kisses him. She’s saved from humiliation by the appearance of Detective Sam, who has made a major break in the Case of the Overly Muscular Warblers. He’s tracked down the one Warbler willing to confirm that the club has, indeed, gone the way of Lance Armstrong. But will he really testify against his own crew?

Back at the dance, the boys of glee dedicate a performance of TLC’s "No Scrubs" to the girls of McKinley, producing enough post-"Magic Mike" sexual electricity to power a whole school dance’s worth of light-up snowflakes. The girls respond with Bruno Mars’s "Locked Out of Heaven," but we’re calling it for the dudes. Marley’s feeling so good that she lays out her demands to Jake: She needs them to be exclusive, and she needs to take it slow. And he’s very up for both.

Rachel and Brody are also reaching new levels of committed in Bushwick. After she blows up at him for showing up late to a date, he talks her down by promising to get a place nearby, so he’ll never be late again. She ups the ante, asking him to move in. (Without clearing it with Kurt!)

We don’t find out his answer just yet. So for now, let’s close with the wise words of Becky, in response to Tina’s confession that she’s found the love of her life. “You’re not talking about gay Blaine!” she cries. Sadly, Tina ignores the warning.

Song of the episode: “Tell Him” was coasting to first when the glee guys dropped “No Scrubs,” taking the lead with a bullet.

What did you think of last night's episode? Is Tina headed for a heartbreak? (And for that matter, Blaine?) Will New Directions be able to bring down the Warblers? Should Brody really move in with Rachel? Tell us all your thoughts in the comments and on Twitter!

Re-Casting Couch: We Take Another Shot At 'The Selection'

Hollywood Crush

Re-Casting Couch: We Take Another Shot At 'The Selection'

The SelectionOh, "The Selection." We just can't quit you! Fans were predictably thrilled by last year's news that Kiera Cass' YA novel, about a group of teenage girls in post-apocalyptic competition for the love of a prince, was greenlit for development on The CW—and understandably devastated when the project got shot, then shelved indefinitely by the powers that be. But don't start recording your tearful post-mortem confession in the limousine just yet, y'all: As we reported yesterday, "The Selection" is getting another shot, and this time, they swear that they're committed. And we believe them! (Just don't hurt us, CW. We've been hurt so many times before!)

HOWEVER. With all the upheaval, "The Selection" lost its leading lady: Aimee Teegarden has moved on to other projects. And that means that the field is once again wide open for a young, up-and-coming actress to snag some steady work! So join us on the casting couch, won't you, as we offer up our picks to play heroine America Singer.

Alexandra Daddario

Alexandra's piercing blue eyes would make her a standout in any crop of bachelorettes; we have no problem believing that she'd capture the attentions of a picky prince. But the actress, best known for her role as the daughter of Athena in the "Percy Jackson" movies, is also a thoughtful performer who would give "The Selection" some real depth.

Sharon Pierre-Louis

After a long stint on "The Lying Game" and a brief appearance in "Django Unchained"," Sharon is perfectly positioned to break out with a starring primetime role. Plus, she's a classically trained opera singer—a natural fit for the role of the musically-inclined America.

Taissa Farmiga

We loved Taissa on "American Horror Story"; the girl can play "angst" like nobody's business (possibly because, unlike most actresses cast in high school-aged roles, she's still an actual teenager). And with a preference for dark, subversive scripts, she could be right at home in the creepy dystopia of this Hunger-Games-meets-The-Bachelor reality show.

'Anna Dressed In Blood' Is On Its Way To Hollywood Thanks To Stephenie Meyer

Hollywood Crush

'Anna Dressed In Blood' Is On Its Way To Hollywood Thanks To Stephenie Meyer

Anna Dressed in BloodStephenie Meyer is developing "Anna Dressed in Blood"! Also, "Anna Dressed in Blood" is being made into a movie by Stephenie Meyer! ...And so concludes that awkward moment when one of the best YA horror stories ever is being adapted for the big screen by the creator of the most big-deal supernatural romance in the history of histories, and you don't know which of these things to lead with because they're both so freakin' exciting. (I don't know what to do, okay? MY WHOLE BRAIN IS CRYING.) Either way, it looks like all that time spent on the set of the "Twilight" films must have given Stephenie Meyer a taste for seeing the magic of YA literature made into feature-length films—and just 'cause the "Twilight" franchise is dunzo, that doesn't mean the magic has to end!

According to the LA Times, who caught up with a knowledgeable source at the Sundance Film Festival, Stephenie (who had a producing credit on the last two "Twilight" films along with her latest book-to-movie adaptation, "The Host," and "Austenland") has scored the screen rights for last year's best ghost story about a murderous spirit in a blood-drenched dress. The book follows Cas, a ghost hunter by trade, who finds himself flummoxed by attempts to re-kill the spirit of the titular Anna. (She's a particularly recalcitrant and nasty ghost, but she inexplicably spares his life.) The title was on plenty best-of lists of 2012, and its gothic gore in combination with a screen-ready romance should make it a definite hit in theaters—and with Stephenie's company, Fickle Fish Films, already pushing development, we're thinking it won't be long before we're getting some truly juicy details about the movie-to-be.

'Delirium' Pilot Ordered By Fox

'Delirium' Pilot Ordered By Fox

Because we have the memory capacity of a goldfish, we'd kinda forgotten that Lauren Oliver's lovely "Delirium" series had gotten a nod from Hollywood two years ago—but if you've been waiting with bated breath ever since the announcement that screen rights had been snapped up, here's your long-awaited news about where the adaptation's at! Per a report from TVLine, the first book has been officially sent into development as a pilot at Fox, where it'll take shape alongside a few other dramas.

For those not in the know, "Delirium" centers on a 17-year-old girl named Lena, the contented citizen of a futuristic society in which love has been renamed "delirium" and deemed a dangerous sickness. Young people eagerly await their 18th birthdays, at which point they'll be given the surgical cure and live out their lives free of the dreaded "disease" alongside government-selected mates. But when Lena contracts delirium just weeks before the procedure that'll forever eradicate her feels, she starts to ask questions. Questions like, "Hey, should I really be this enthusiastic about a government-mandated lobotomy?" (It's a good question!)

With nothing but a development order on the table, it'll still be a while before we see what Hollywood makes of "Delirium." But with writer Karyn Usher (previously of "Prison Break") assigned to the script, we're betting on great action and perfect pacing for this adaptation.

'Divergent' Star Shailene Woodley Was 'Profoundly Moved' By Veronica Roth's Novel

'Divergent' Star Shailene Woodley Was 'Profoundly Moved' By Veronica Roth's Novel

We've hardly heard a peep from "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" star Shailene Woodley since she was cast as heroine Beatrice "Tris" Prior in the big-screen adaptation of dystopian thriller "Divergent." Well, not anymore, seeing as we caught up with the star today at the Sundance Film Festival, where she was promoting her movie "The Spectacular Now."

So, first things first: What inspired Shailene to sign on for the role of the Dauntless factioner? We guarantee her answer is nothing you'd expect.

"I read the book, and I thought it was really—my whole thing, to be honest, is I never wanted to do big films," she explained. "I've been acting for 16 years, and it was never something that I wanted to do, to be in a big blockbuster film, especially one that was similar to 'Hunger Games' or 'Twilight.' You know, one that had a huge pre-existing fan base and one that would carry on for multiple years."

But that all changed once she cracked the spine on Veronica Roth's young-adult novel.

"After I read the book, I was really profoundly moved, and it's really metaphorical for things that are going on today, specifically things that I'm passionate about and things that I want to make public and things that I want to educate people on," Shailene said. "So I think it's a really great platform, not only artistically but also from a human level just to expose these kind of messy, nasty things that are going on in our country."

What types of things, specifically?

"In 'Divergent,' people are injected with this serum and then controlled by it, and I think that it's really funny that right now we're starting to chip our dogs and chip our babies," she said. "That's just a small example. I could go on for hours. There's also mind control that kind of gets dealt with in 'Divergent.' That's going on today and nobody knows about that."

"Divergent" is slated to hit theaters March 21, 2014.

Style Superstar: Michelle Dockery's Golden Globes Gown Wows and Wins

There was no shortage of great looks to choose from for our fashion feature this week! Sunday's Golden Globes ceremony brought out all the brightest stars, who looked stunning in their best and most beautiful dresses...well, more or less. Whose risk-taking look reaped Style Superstar rewards? And which award-winner didn't take home any trophies for her wardrobe selection?

Our favorite fashionista this week: Michelle Dockery! Her white-and-gold Alexandre Vauthier gown is one that we would have probably hated on anyone else—and few other actresses would have been brave enough to tangle with it. But the challenging lace bodice, with its high neck and short sleeves, was pure elegance on the statuesque Michelle. And with dewy makeup and a perfectly tousled faux-bob, she looked just as at home among Hollywood's finest as she does in the Downton drawing room.

Alas, it wasn't all gold at the Globes that night: Jessica Chastain, who took home Best Actress honors for her role in "Zero Dark Thirty," attended the ceremony in a simple, drapey dress the color of sea foam which neither fit nor flattered—and which still has us scratching our heads. (Stylists, tell the truth now: Which one of you put this prolific, talented, and classically gorgeous woman into a gown that looks like it was hastily made from a cheap bedsheet?) Jessica, wherever you are, you really deserve better than this.

'Vampire Diaries' Recap: 'After School Special'

Hollywood Crush

'Vampire Diaries' Recap: 'After School Special'

by Cassie Title

It's funny that last night's "Vampire Diaries" episode was titled "After School Special," because that's what I've been calling basically all of the episodes this season. But this post-hiatus return was a good sign; instead of the overly sappy, overly righteous characters and plotlines and motivations we were getting before, we got tight, well-paced plotlines that set up for future (hopefully exciting) developments. In fact, I didn't even mind this recap-reset-get-ready-plot-oriented episode (because, as you know, I hate all episodes that don’t involve flashbacks and character development and Originals, which is why I’m SO. BEYOND. EXCITED. for the potential Originals spin-off).

And that was mainly because of:

Rebekah

Man, what an original bitch! I have to say I was forgetting why our main hang gang hates her so much. I mean, sure, she’s done some crappy things, but haven’t we all (ahem, Stefan, Damon, everyone, basically)? And Bex, more than anyone, just wants to be loved and accepted. I mean, that’s one of the main reasons why she wants the cure. (I know this because the "Previously on 'The Vampire Diaries'" told me so!) But tonight was bad. Real bad. First she was playing games with Stefan’s heart (the Backstreet Boys would not have approved), gathering Stefan and Elena and Caroline into the library at school to catch her up on what she missed, being daggered and all. Bex compelled everyone to tell her things: Stefan said Elena slept with Damon, Elena said she was in love with Damon and while she loved Stefan, she was no longer in love with him. It was jolly good fun, and by that I mean it was the exact opposite. She was plain old cruel, pals, and it got even better when she called Tyler, compelled everyone to stay in the school, and then compelled Tyler to turn. Honestly, it was bats--t crazy, there were stakes (not the white oak kinds or anything, just stakes, plot-wise), and I was freaking out! Rebekah actually didn’t care if they died; she got what she wanted out of them (after making Elena and Stefan painfully recount the details of their failed relationship, she found out that Shane was the way to get to the cure), and viewed them as competition—whoever got to the cure first decided what to do with it. And homegirl wants that lady to be her.

Down in, or up in, or wherever the heck the lake house is, Damon and Jeremy and Matt were training Jeremy in the ways of vampire hunting.

Since Alaric croaked way back when, Damon was the only instructor available, so they were all out there, doing their thing, hanging out in white wifebeaters and looking more and more muscly by the day (meaning Jeremy, of course.) Klaus arrived, all huffed and puffed like the wolf that he (half) is, because he needed Jeremy’s mark to grow, like, now, so he could get that cure and cure Elena and make more hybrids. You know, because the whole hybrid-making motivation thing still makes sense. Right. There was a difference of opinion, because Klaus wanted to turn a bunch of people into vampires and then have Jeremy kill them, but everyone else was against that. Until the end. Where everyone was still against that, except for Klaus and Damon. And I wagged my finger at Damon in disappointment, just a little bit.

Bonnie, Shane, and all that weirdness

Apparently, Bonnie "graduated" from Dark Magic—er, Expression—College! Hooray! Shane gave her a talisman made of human bone, which you should remember, because it becomes important later when Kol (YEAH AN ORIGINAL VAMPIRE THAT WE HARDLY SEE, RETURNED) tried to drown and impale Shane. Luckily, Bonnie used the talisman to cast a protection spell, which was not so lucky because she inadvertently tied April to Shane, which caused April to start spitting out water and drowning in the open air and also almost bleed to death. April was there—(wait, why is April ever there?)—because she woke Rebekah up pre-hiatus, I think. And Rebekah spent all this time telling April how Elena and Stefan and Caroline and everyone lied and such. Which was kind of true, but mostly silly, because Rebekah pretty much did the same.

Bonnie’s Dad

This was something. He’s the new mayor! It's weird how critics are all talking about this development; yes, he’s been absent from the show for, basically, ever, but he’s not returning; Bonnie’s been living with him the whole time. In fact, she’s the only one with an appropriate guardian, minus Caroline. Honestly, Liz and Rudy (Bonnie’s dad’s name) better watch out, because the showrunners are gonna be after them, in order to turn this show into a conveniently parent-free zone. Anyway, I could swear that I saw Bonnie’s dad in the first season, played by a different actor, of course, but I’ve tried to research it, and I think I was probably just making it up.

Other Things

-Kol and Rebekah are, like, terrified of Silas. It’s always weird when the baddest baddies are scared of someone, but I want to know why they’re so scared of Silas, considering they’re convinced he’s not real. Silas was apparently the first immortal being, which is interesting because I was sort of thinking that the Originals were. But why is he a threat? I guess we’ll find out when Shane digs that dude up.

-It was a really nice tool to have Rebekah compel all the kids in the library. I just really dug it, guys. We got all this info quickly, it was all clever, and trapping them all there was like "The Breakfast Club," vampire style. Except instead of bringing them together, Principal Mikaelson’s plan was to tear them apart.

-Yo, did you see when Elena and Damon talked on the phone at the end of the episode? I don’t even know why I’m asking; you obviously did. Did your heart die (in a good way) when Elena told Damon she loved him twice, and Damon’s face was just like SO FREAKING HAPPY WITHOUT SMILING? It was a great face, really, Ian Somerhalder. A total upgrade from your usual eyebrow glares. I JUST MELTED, AND IT WAS WONDERFUL.

-I get that we all have a goal and we need to get this cure, and I’m excited to learn more about it and Silas and raising the dead and shiz, but why is everyone so obsessed with getting it for Elena (besides Klaus, his reason is obvious)? Like, Elena’s such a wonderful person—she’s simply too good to be a vampire? It’s kind of ridiculous considering that all our favorite characters are vampires. Like, what about Caroline? She does a pretty great job of being a human while being a vampire. It’s just pretty annoying, showrunners. I even like Elena now (at least this episode I did), and I just think it’s a really silly premise. Sorry.

-Who else is Shane working with? I kind of thought he was plotting with the Originals, so obviously that’s not happening. But, like, doesn’t this just go to show that the Originals are not our enemies, guys? Shane is trying to do something evil! Klaus and Rebekah and Kol are just 1,000-year-old teenagers with daddy issues. And super strength. And the power of mind control. No big thang. Anyway, let’s get with the program and figure this out, heroes!

-Why Elena rocks: (yes, you read that right) she said, lately I feel like I’m a project. Like I’m a problem that needs to be fixed. I think I make Stefan sad. But I can’t be with someone like that, because when he looks at me, all he sees is a broken toy. To quote my notes: WOW, YOU GO GIRL! Stefan’s all devastated and reeking of alcohol because of Elena being a vampire trollop who likes bad boys (point Rebekah), but I don’t feel bad at all. Elena said it best: she’s a person, not a project. Stop trying to control her, fool.

-Rebekah and Stefan are now partners in the hunt for the cure. He still wants to cure Elena, cause he’s a fool. I wanted to think of it like Stefan and Katherine teaming up, but it’s just not the same.

Till next week: What did you think of "TVD"'s return? Did you dig Elena as much as I did? Will Kol stick around? What kinds of trouble is Bonnie’s dad’s new involvement in the town and her life going to cause? Are Rebekah and Stefan going to become partners in more than just the hunt for the cure? Were you shocked that Shane revealed that he was behind all the massacres (even though the audience already knew)? Do you think he believes what he told Bonnie about expression not being dark? When is Bonnie going to figure out his true agenda? Whatever happened to Jamie, her pseudo brother/boyfriend? Aren’t she and Jeremy going to get it on after hunter camp? Are you almost mad at Caroline for being so tight with Stefan, considering how manipulative he’s being in terms of Elena? Tell me more, tell me more. "Grease"-style. You can even sing it, although I won’t know it if you do. So be sure to say that you’re singing! That way I can get the whole picture. Indeed.

Jennifer Lawrence's 'SNL' Promo Is Here, And It Is Awesome

Jennifer Lawrence's 'SNL' Promo Is Here, And It Is Awesome

No doubt, there's still one person out there—a joyless person who hates fun and sunshine and whose heart is full of spiders—who isn't looking forward like crazy to seeing Jennifer Lawrence in her sketch comedy star turn as the host of "Saturday Night Live" this week. But the rest of us? CANNOT. WAIT. Jennifer's comic abilities are already legendary amongst her fandom, but they really deserve a wider audience. And just to heighten the anticipation, the promo video for the episode is finally out on the interwebs, where Jennifer's award-winning (Golden Globes, what!) charisma and comic timing is on full display.

Of course, like every great actress, the "Hunger Games" star needs a few takes to get her intro right—and by "get her intro right," we mean "give an impromptu acceptance speech, banter with Jason Sudeikis, and commit accidental homicide with a poorly aimed arrow." She's impeccable in all of 'em, of course. And with half a week of rehearsing still to go until she's on stage at Rockefeller Center, we fully expect that William Tell-style archery trick to be in top form by the time the show goes live...even if a few cast members are, um, missing.

Jennifer will host "SNL" along with musical guest The Lumineers on Saturday, January 19.

Shay Mitchell Is Worried For Spencer On 'Pretty Little Liars'

Because of all the drama and the constant state of suspense in which our "Pretty Little Liars" find themselves, it seems as though the only thing to be surprised about in regards to their storylines is when they have moments of actual happiness. I mean, it's not like they're little angels or anything, but it would be nice to see them relax and smile and laugh a bit more, right?

Thanks to a recent conversation with star Shay Mitchell, it seems as though we might get our wish—at least part of it.

"There is going to be moments of happiness for all the girls," Shay told Hollywood Crush. "Mona is back and they're all trying to suss out if she is really being good now and if things have changed with her, but I do feel though that each of the girls will have a little bit of happiness in there."

And what about for Emily in particular? Will she and Paige enjoy a normal, drama-free romance this season?

"Paige has been around for a while, and she's going to be in this season as well, which I love," Shay admitted. "We'll see where Emily and Paige go, but I think both of the girls will be happy."

In looking outside her own character's storyline, Shay said that she's very interested to see how the big reveal about Toby plays out with Spencer. (Us too!)

"That [storyline] is crazy. I'm really curious to see how Toby comes clean to Spencer about all that," she said. "I think when everybody sees how that takes place, because obviously she will be finding out, it will be very interesting."

And Shay isn't just playing coy about being interested in finding out what happens, she actually doesn't know. Why? Because the stars are kept in the dark until the very last minute.

"We get the scripts that we're shooting two days [in advance]," Shay revealed. "The writers want to keep us guessing and they don't want us to know too much because in interviews we can easily slip up, so it's probably a better thing that I don't know what's going to take place, I think it's good for everybody."

Finnick Is Fine In New 'Catching Fire' Stills

Hear that, princess? It's the screaming...of a thousand "Hunger Games" fangirls having the greatest flailing freakout of their lives. Because a pile of "Catching Fire" stills hit our inbox today, along with a brand new flaming Mockingjay poster for the upcoming film.

And in that pile: a look at each of the series' sexiest gentleman characters in action! Whether you pine for Peeta, go crazy for Gale, or fancy District 4's Finnick Odair, there's a delicious buffet of man-meat awaiting. Unless you like Haymitch, of course, in which case you're out of luck, but you're also a weirdo who likes lank-haired men with booze breath and hammertoes. Look at your life! Look at your choices!

But first, look at this! Among the new pics from the long-awaited sequel to last year's dystopian blockbuster: one ever-so-slightly-steamy-looking shot of Finnick and Katniss, in which the trident-wielding golden boy appears to be whispering sweet nothings into our heroine's ear. (Also: Those who doubted Sam Claflin's ability to play the Games' flirtiest tribute with an appropriate level of panache, take a look at that smirk and prepare to eat crow.)

And elsewhere, you can see Katniss and Peeta looking pretty on stage—presumably in an early scene from the film—along with a less-formal photo of the cast in mid-chat with director Francis Lawrence. Want to view all the stills? Click through for the flipbook!

You'll Want To Spend More Than 'Just One Day' With Gayle Forman's Latest Novel

Hollywood Crush

You'll Want To Spend More Than 'Just One Day' With Gayle Forman's Latest Novel

Just One DayI never know what jumble of emotions will flood over me as I crack the spine on a new Gayle Forman novel—but I always welcome the deluge. If one can be both giddy and melancholy in the same moment, well, that was my state as I turned the final page of the author's latest effort.

Part romance, part travelogue, part coming-of-age tale, "Just One Day" centers around straight-laced American teen Allyson Healey, who's spent the final weeks of her summer before college traveling with a study group in Europe. On the last night of the tour, Allyson meets Willem, a dreamy Dutchman who's part of an underground Shakespeare company. Allyson feels an instant connection, and a chance meeting the following day precipitates an invitation to spend the day with Willem in Paris.

And what a whirlwind 24 hours it is, as Willem and Lulu (the name Willem bestows upon Allyson thanks to her likeness to Louise Brooks) trip through the city, eating, drinking and sharing parts of themselves—all the while leaving many things unsaid. Because it's just one day, right? But as her European alter ego Lulu, Allyson sheds her usual inhibitions, embracing an adventurous, spontaneous side she never knew she had. So it's devastating when Allyson wakes up the next morning and finds Willem gone.

In some ways, this is where the real story starts. As Allyson leaves home for college, she can't shake the depression this lost, could-be-love has left behind. On campus, she makes few friends and her usually stellar grades tank. She soon realizes that she's not just mourning the loss of Willem but the loss of who she was when she was with Willem. It's decided: She'll not only find Willem in Paris, but the self she left behind, as well. And that, dear readers, is where I will leave you to pick up a copy of "Just One Day" for yourself.

What Gayle does so brilliant, both here and in her earlier "If I Stay," is make her characters' personal struggle universal. Allyson's search for identity is wholly hers, but it's ours as well. If you've ever had an unrequited love. If you've ever wondered who you really are. If you've ever had questions that seemed to have no answers, then this is your story. Which is what makes "Just One Day" so powerful.

What Would 'Girls' Characters Bring To A Viewing Party?

DVRs across the country will be working overtime on Sunday, with both the Golden Globes and the second-season premiere of "Girls" keeping us otherwise occupied. (Seriously, Aunt Gertrude. Don't call us. We won't answer.) And if you've boldly decided to eschew the Hollywood glad-handing for a dose of Brooklyn real talk, we bet you're also the sort who eagerly accepted an invitation to a viewing party or two.

Now, if you're still wondering what fete favors to pack for your hostess, don't fret! We recently caught up with the cast of the HBO series and asked them to theorize what items their characters would bring to just such an affair. (We can't, however, guarantee the legality of said items.)

Up first: Lena Dunham, who plays hapless Hannah. "She would probably bring, like, some bad champagne she got at a corner store," Lena said.

Meanwhile, best friend Marnie (played by Allison Williams) would no doubt err towards the opposite extreme.

"A dress that in some way is inappropriate for the viewing party," Allison said with a grin. "A gown probably. Or a cocktail dress!"

Then there's Ray, Shoshanna's eccentric paramour, played by Alex Karpovsky.

"He'd probably bring a board game, some nachos and guacamole and maybe a DVD of early Andy Kaufman footage," Alex guessed.

But if any star had her character's predilections down pat, it's Jemima Kirke, who decided wild-child Jessa would bring a hallucinogenic of some sort. "Probably something really anti-social," she mused

Style Superstar: Nina Dobrev Is A Sugared Sweetie

Style Superstar: Nina Dobrev Is A Sugared Sweetie

Everything is better with a sprinkling of colored sugar—including this week's picks for best dressed! With long and glamorous gowns currently the status quo (it's awards season, after all), two of our favorite ladies were standouts in short, sparkling frocks that looked like crystallized candy. Whose look are we super-sweet on?

It's Nina Dobrev! The "Vampire Diaries" actress was a beauty in turquoise blue on the Critics' Choice Awards red carpet last night. What works about this look? Oh, y'know, just everything. The fit is perfect, the look is perfectly accessorized, and Nina's bouffant-plus-ponytail is just the right combination of glam and sophisticated. And even though the girl herself wasn't up for any awards, her Monique Lhuillier dress with keyhole details and a structured tulip skirt was a sparkling victory for Style Superstardom.

Also sporting a sweet look this week: Lea Michele, who donned a pink short-sleeved dress at the People's Choice Awards. But while the People loved Lea enough to send her home with one of the coveted crystal trophies for her role on "Glee," we'd like to have sent her home before the ceremony to do something else to her hair. With a dress like this, the Heidi braids are a little too twee; a sleek, simple ponytail would have kept this look firmly in grownup territory.

What do you think of this week's stylish picks?

6 More Movies That Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling Need To Make

Hollywood Crush

6 More Movies That Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling Need To Make

It goes without saying that we love seeing Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone together—in anything, really. They were adorable as a pair of unlikely lovebirds in "Crazy, Stupid, Love," and sizzling with their high-drama dalliance in "Gangster Squad," and... and... and look, we just don't want it to end, okay? So we've come up with the following list of films in which they might continue their collaboration, ranging from action-packed blockbusters to quiet romances. Where might they begin? How about:

A Jane Austen period drama!

Any one of Austen's classic love stories would be a perfect vehicle for our dynamic duo —especially in a historic setting where conversational chemistry is everything. Plus, Emma in empire gowns and elaborate hats; Ryan in breeches, a waistcoat, and a cravat... sorry, 'scuse us, we need to find something with which to wipe the drool.

An apocalyptic action flick!

Imagine the excitement of watching Emma and Ryan as they battle for the survival of the earth itself, against a horde of zombies/aliens/evil cats hell-bent on world domination. And then, imagine the excitement of watching them take on the responsibility of, y'know, ensuring the survival of the human race, ahem.

A buddy cop comedy!

Picture this: Emma is a straight-laced young superstar, rising through the ranks of the LAPD thanks to her no-nonsense attitude and sparkling work ethic. Ryan? A grizzled, hard-drinking detective who doesn't. Play. By. THE RULES. But it'll take their best teamwork—and plenty of chase scenes through the maze of shipping containers at the San Pedro port!—to take down a drug-smuggling ring led by a mysterious overlord known only as... The Finger.

A cerebral political thriller!

We've already seen Ryan be so good being so bad in the dirty campaign espionage of "The Ides of March," so it stands to reason that adding Emma into the mix—perhaps in a film featuring the two of them as political aides on opposite sides of the aisle—would be even better.

A supernatural romance!

We've always suspected that Ryan Gosling is sort of superhuman, anyway—the guy does something heroic and saves the life of a stranger every other week—so it's only natural that he should play a man who's more than human, right? We're not picky! Alien, mer-man, werewolf, yeti... he'll be one, and Emma will fall in love with it. Yes? Yes!

A dramatic reading of the phone book!

Some people might be merely joking when they claim that they'd pay to watch their favorite actors read the phone book...but not us.

Did we miss a genre that Ryan and Emma would be perfect in?

Five 'Sex And The City' Episodes To Watch Before 'Carrie Diaries' Debuts

Before the Upper East Side apartment, before the sex column, before Mr. Big (or Aidan, or Berger, for that matter), Carrie Bradshaw was just another wide-eyed innocent yearning for... more. She found it in Manhattan—a tale familiar to fans of the much-loved HBO series "Sex and the City." But it's those integral early moments—the writer's origin story—that inform The CW's new series "The Carrie Diaries."

Based on the book series by Candace Bushnell, "The Carrie Diaries" follows 16-year-old Carrie Bradshaw in the aftermath of her mother's death as she embarks upon an internship in the gritty concrete jungle of New York City. It's a side of the writer rarely revealed during "SATC"'s six-season run, though there were clues. As we look toward "The Carrie Diaries" premiere on Monday, we've rounded up the five must-watch episodes of "Sex and the City" that shed the faintest light on young Miss Bradshaw.

"Hot Child in the City" (Season 3, Episode 15)

Our first glimpse at what a high-school version of our heroine might have looked like, Carrie dates a comic-book store owner nursing a serious case of arrested development. Pot smoking and fried chicken noshing (and tossing) ensue—before the couple is busted by mom.

"A Vogue Idea" (Season 4, Episode 17)

"The Carrie Diaries" may be "Sex and the City"'s naive little sister, but she's wise enough to pave her own path. Case in point: In "A Vogue Idea," Carrie reveals that her dad took off when she was five years old. Yet, in The CW series, it is her father who raises her and sister Dorrit after their mother's death. Continuity, shmontinuity.

"Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda" (Season 5, Episode 11)

One of the diarist's earliest New York recollections: a 22-year-old Carrie gets pregnant after a drunken night with a Saloon waiter and has an abortion. Years later, she's hesitant to reveal the truth to current boyfriend Aidan.

"Boy, Interrupted" (Season 6, Episode 10)

Carrie's high-school past comes back to haunt her (in the best way possible) when former flame Jeremy (played by David Duchovny) comes for a visit. Too bad he's currently holed up in a mental institution.

"Pick-A-Little, Talk-A-Little" (Season 6, Episode 4)

This episode is iconic for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the introduction of the phrase, "he's just not that into you." But it earned a spot on our list because it is "Carrie Diaries" starlet AnnaSophia Robb's favorite episode. And we won't argue for fear of getting Carried away...

'Pretty Little Liars' Recap: 'She's Better Now'

Hollywood Crush

'Pretty Little Liars' Recap: 'She's Better Now'

Much like menacing Mona, the title of last night's "Pretty Little Liars" winter premiere is not to be trusted—because not even two minutes into the episode, the recently released rabble-rouser creepily sneaks into Hanna's room in the middle of the night like some vampiric love interest, confirming that she most certainly isn't cured. Hanna's rightfully disturbed and doesn't have much faith in Mona's intentions: "You spent the last two years majoring in torture," she says, before finally agreeing to be her ally at school.

But Mona isn't the only one out carousing under the cover of darkness. Her fellow A-Teamer Toby is careening in an SUV through the dimly lit streets of Rosewood, barreling down on a defenseless skateboarder. More on that to come.

In light of the derailed Halloween party, Emily's dad has decided to alarm Chez Fields against intruders—and make Em something of prisoner inside her own home. And she better forget about that after-school charity race.

Unsurprisingly, Mona's return to school isn't without incident. After American history class (with maternity sub Meredith!), Mona finds a bovine brain affixed to her locker door with a butcher knife, accompanied by a note reading, "Takes one mad cow to know another." With nearly the entire high school watching, Mona grabs the knife and brain, walking it down one of the longest hallways we've ever seen, finally finding a garbage to throw it into. As she waltzes back, knife in hand, she whispers something into Lucas' ear. He retreats—with a mysterious limp. (Aria did stab someone on the Halloween train...)

Speaking of Aria, she's keeping mum...about everything. From the accusations Garrett leveled against her dad to Ezra's secret spawn, she's hesitant to reveal any of her secrets. But as she leaves Ezra's apartment, she spies an "It's a boy!" gift basket outside his door. A knows.

At home, she finally dances around the subject of Ali by asking Byron what he thought of her and if he ever spent any time with her. (Because dads always hang out with their daughter's BFFs for no reason...) He of course rebuffs her questions and leaves her room with a disturbed look on his face.

Emily's loitering in the halls at school when she spots the new janitor, but he's not new to her. He's the caretaker from the lodge! He's cleaning up brain juice from Mona's locker, and the girls decide they'll investigate his lair later during the charity race.

Mona shows up at the event too, glad-handing participants like she's the First Lady. Thanks to Over-Protective Dad, Emily's not there, so Aria, Hanna and Spencer detour to the basement to investigate the janitor's office. But Emily is there, poorly picking the lock after having disengaged the security system at home. The girls don't find Mona's belongings, but they find something even more valuable: an old diary of Ali's in which she details blackmailing Byron!

Mr. Janitor returns and finds the girls snooping around, but Toby arrives just in time (coincidence?) to help smooth over the situation and get them out of there. Meanwhile, at the race, Mona spots Meredith and, well, it looks as though she sets her up to walk right into a burning shed (and make the liars look like they're to blame).

Lucas later shows up at Hanna's house with an envelope of money for Caleb, and when Hanna asks about the limp, he says he was in a skateboarding accident. (So he's the one Toby terrorized?) But he's not the only injured one. The episode ends with Mona dressing a wound of Jason's. Perhaps inflicted from a mysterious pyrotechnic mishap?

What did you think of last night's winter premiere? Do you think Jason and Mona are in cahoots? Did Byron really have something to do with Alison's death? And what's Lucas up to? Tell us all your thoughts and theories in the comments and on Twitter!

Reeve Carney Hopes To Emerge From His Isolation Cabinet With New Music

Reeve Carney is all about his isolation cabinet these days. But it’s not as weird as it sounds. You see, the actor/singer has found a practical use for it—he's recording his next album.

“Oh man, I’ve built a recording studio in my house, and it’s been great actually,” the "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" star told MTV News about working on new music. "I built a thing called an isolation cabinet, so I can actually record electric guitars in my New York apartment without disturbing my neighbors. It was really cool. So I’ve been in between shows and at night and in the morning, I record in my apartment."

The album also sees Reeve going it solo. He’s hustling to make the recording happen without any assistance. "I’d say the great thing about what I’m doing now I have a little more to do it,” he said. “So I have a chance to raise the level of quality and to be a part of every part of the process. I’m playing a lot of the instruments, if not all of them, on the tracks.”

So what does Reeve listen to to get into the mood to create? "I listen to everything all the time or nothing depending on if I’m working or not,” he said. “I’ve never been a fan of one particular type of genre, everything from classical music...even to like urban music. I sort of like it all."

But, alas, don’t expect to see Reeve’s rap album anytime soon. He laughed, “I don’t know if I will ever rap, but maybe there’ll be like a collab up in there somewhere.”

Is 'The Host' Just 'The Notebook' With Aliens?

Wait... waaaaait: Before you pelt us with spoiled fruit, no, we do not think the Stephenie Meyer-penned adaptation and the weepy drama are the same movie. Or even very similar, for that matter. But it sure is hard to tell from the latest one-sheet posted to Yahoo! Movies, which depicts stars Saoirse Ronan and Max Irons in an intimate, rain-soaked embrace, calling to mind all those similarly styled Nicholas Sparks movie posters that came before it.

And, just to be clear, that's not a complaint.

Because, after all, while there's plenty of action and intrigue in the sci-fi drama (which hits theaters March 29), at its heart, "The Host" is all about the love shared by two of the last surviving humans on Earth—and the lengths they'll go to to be together. Which, come to think of it, kind of does sound like something Nicholas Sparks' great-great-great grandson would pen in the year 2312.

Check out all three new posters over at Yahoo! Movies.

But whatever, kitten-hater: point is, you'd better prepare yourself to be seeing a whole lot more of AnnaSophia, because with her great new gig as a young Carrie Bradshaw on "The Carrie Diaries" comes great responsibility—including the responsibility to appear in many, many magazines for some in-depth discussion of her new It Girl status. Look, it's already happening! Just feast your eyes on her cover appearance in Teen Vogue next month, where she proves that not only can she hold her own as a model for all things mod in an op-art photoshoot, but has some very Carrie things to say about her career, her love life and the magic land of New York City.

There's no question that any story taking place in the world of "Sex and the City" needs a certain amount of respect for the "city" part—and according to AnnaSophia, she absolutely shares her character's awe of the island of Manhattan.

"There's so much going on—I actually get a little nervous on the weekends, wondering what to do and who to hang out with," she said of her New York experience. "When I used to watch 'Gossip Girl' or 'Sex and the City,' I thought the things that happened were totally exaggerated. But then I got here and realized they're not. That's what it's really like!"

Another thing she has in common with Le Bradshaw: She's single...and, like her character, a little annoyed by the fact that she's currently experiencing a dating dry spell.

"I think I must make a stank face," she said, her theory on why she rarely gets approached by guys. (We don't believe it. That face could never be stank!)

But while her love life might be lacking, her career momentum is carrying her forward in a major way—which is just how the actress wants it. Initially reluctant to take on a television role, she said that after reading the script, "I realized it was actually a really strong story. It had a lot of heart and integrity, and Carrie seems like a character that I can grow with."

Will you be watching AnnaSophia when she makes her "Carrie Diaries" debut in two weeks?
